Several of the borough’s high schools are running the one and two-week programmes, which are mainly aimed at youngsters making the step up from primary to secondary school.

The Department for Education (DfE) estimates that, in the first half-term of autumn 2020, seven to 14-year-olds were around two months behind on their reading, while seven to 11-year-olds were roughly three months behind in maths.
