State Pension age, but need extra help because of a long-term illness, disability or mental health condition, you could be eligible for a Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and receive between £23.70 and £152.15 every week.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) pays successful claimants every four week, so that amounts to between £94.80 and £608.60 of regular financial support each month.

PIP is non-means tested, tax-free and can be claimed by anyone if they are in or out of work - as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
