St Mirren defender Richard Tait admits he's dreading playing on Palmerston pitch

Motherwell. He revealed that, while he’s not a fan of the fake grass in Dumfries, he and his St Mirren teammates will have to put it to the back of their minds as they look to follow up their opening Betfred Cup win over Partick Thistle on Wednesday night with another victory this afternoon.

He told Express Sport: “Queens will be another tough challenge. They’ll have a good side and it’ll be even harder on their Astroturf pitch.“I’ve been down there before and, no disrespect to them, but it’s not the greatest of pitches.“I’m not a big fan of Astroturf pitches anyway, but it’s something we’ve all had to deal with before and we have to go there with the same mindset of getting the points and getting top of the group.”.
