Speeding driver who killed 13-year-old boy and fled the scene to have sentence reviewed

Wigan, on July 7.The schoolboy was on his phone to his grandmother and was walking to meet friends to play football when he was struck by Wilson's Jaguar X-Type.He died in his parents' arms in hospital the following day.Bolton Crown Court heard that Wilson, who was only in possession of a provisional driving licence, was driving at almost three times the speed limit when he lost control and crashed into Jack.Wilson had previously admitted causing Jack's death by dangerous driving.His sentence has now been sent to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme.Appeal court judges will make a ruling at a hearing on a date yet to be set.Solicitor General, Michael Ellis QC MP, referred the case after being contacted by Makerfield.
