We all know that many fizzy drinks contain a lot of sugar, but a shocking new study has found that some formula baby milk can contain twice as much as Fanta.The research, carried out at Kings College London an Leeds Beckett University, found that over half of the formulas targeted have more that 5g of sugar per 100ml.
Even more concerning is that in the case of some of the formulas the amount surpassed 7.5g per 100ml, which is more than the recommended EU levels for infants.
One of the baby formulas studied was a French powdered product aimed at babies under six months and it contained a whopping 8.2g of sugar per 100ml.To put that in perspective, Fanta Orange contains 4.6g of sugar, which is nearly half the amount.
