SNP Government quizzed on why sick pay fund for care staff has not been set up

Ministers have been criticised after it emerged a sick pay fund for social care staff had not been established yet. The Scottish Government has also been unable to provide a start date for a scheme which will top up the incomes of low paid workers.

Testing in care homes has been ramped up amid concerns the Government and other public bodies were too slow to protect staff and residents.
