Elton John
Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums. John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, as well as seven consecutive number-one albums in the United States, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10 singles, four of which peaked at number two and nine of which reached number one. His tribute single "Candle in the Wind 1997", rewritten in dedication to Diana, Princess of Wales, sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts. He has also produced records and occasionally acted in films. John owned Watford F.C. from 1976 to 1987 and from 1997 to 2002, and is an honorary life president of the club.

Sir Elton John test positive for covid and cancels two gigs

Sir Elton John has had to cancel two of his gigs after testing positive for coronavirus. The Rocket Man star, 74, has had all his vaccinations and is said to be experiencing only mild symptoms of Covid -19, as he hopes to return to the stage shortly.

He was due to play the US for his farewell tour after delays since 2020 as a result of the pandemic. A statement from his management said: "It is with great regret that the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour dates in Dallas set for Tuesday, January 25 and Wednesday, January 26 must be postponed due to Elton recently testing positive for COVID-19. "Fortunately, Elton is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is experiencing only mild symptoms.Fans should hold on to their tickets as they will be honoured at the rescheduled dates to be announced soon."Elton and the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour look forward to returning to the stage shortly."Elton's tour was meant to take place in March 2020 but was delayed due to restrictions.During lockdown, the star worked on a collaborative album The Lockdown Sessions.

Elton himself took to Instagram to tell fans about his health update. He wrote: "Hi everyone, wanted to send a message to let you know that I have contracted COVID and so have had to reschedule my shows in Dallas.If you have tickets, you'll be contacted with the new dates really soon.

It's always a massive disappointment to move shows and I'm so sorry to anyone who's been inconvenienced by this but I want to keep myself and my team safe."He added: "Fortunately, I'm fully vaccinated and boosted and my symptoms are mild so I'm fully expecting to be able to make the Arkansas shows this weekend."As always, thank you for all your love and support and I can't wait to see you all soon!"
