crazed thug caused his girlfriend's C-section stitches to burst open - by assaulting the new mum as she tried to tend to their newborn baby.

Callous Adam Gallagher carried out numerous attacks on Charlene McGill during their two-and-a-half year relationship. One attack on her, committed just days after she’d given birth, left blood pouring from her cesarean wound, Paisley Sheriff Court heard today.

And, during another, where he attacked her after turning up in a taxi and then fleeing in the vehicle, he punched her on the head so hard she saw flashes of light.

Gallagher then contacted her from jail trying to get her to lie about what had happened in a bid to be released from custody earlier.
