Scots nightspot recruits undercover clubber to help protect women from being spiked

An undercover clubber will work inside one of Paisley’s busiest nightspots to protect women from being spiked by predators.Bosses at Vienna’s in the town’s New Street have recruited an experienced venue worker, who will monitor bars for any suspicious behaviour.Other measures, including drink testing strips and ‘spike proof’ lids for glasses, have also been introduced to make revellers feel safe.

The move follows a spate of terrifying reports of women being injected by needles in many of Scotland’s cities, including neighbouring Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
