Scotland to be battered by 12 inches of snow later this week as forecasters issue weather warning

snow is expected to bucket large parts of Scotland over a 30-hour period later this week. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy snowfall to land in southern and northern parts of the country from midnight on Thursday.

Wintry conditions will travel north eastwards into Scotland, with the likes of central Scotland, the Borders, Strathclyde and the Highlands being the worst affected.
