Scotland should be able to meet covid vaccine target by end of July despite 'tight' Pfizer supply

Humza Yousaf wrote to UK health chief Matt Hancock over his concerns about the supply of the Pfizer vaccine. In his letter he urged Hancock to take action to ensure Scotland could meet its target of vaccinating the entire adult population by the end of July.

Due to the decision by the JCVI (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation) the use of the Oxford Astrazeneca jab should only be used for over 40s.

Responding to Yousaf earlier today Zahawi admitted that supply of Pfizer will be tight but insisted that Scotland would be able to meet its target by the end of July.He told LBC: "I am absolutely confident, and I'll speak to Humza on this, that we will be able to deliver the Pfizer vaccines that Scotland needs to be able to meet its.
