Scotland is set to sizzle in a five-day heatwave after the Scottish Government lifted some restrictions to the lockdown today.

The Met Office is anticipating a scorcher across the country on Friday, with the likes of Glasgow and Perth reaching potential highs of 26 degrees.

And the lovely weather will continue over the weekend and into next week as the sun looks set to dominate the country’s skies until Wednesday.The temperatures are expected to fall just short of the highest ever recorded in Scotland for May.Met Office experts recorded a record high of 30.9C in Inverailort, in the Highlands, back in May 2012.
