Previous fears over nuclear warfare lead to a number of bunkers being set up in the UK during the Cold War from the 1940s onwards.
More than 250 nuclear bunkers were erected in the UK - with at least 30 installed here in Scotland, according to Subterranea Britannica.Many of them have now vanished as some fell into states of disrepair as nuclear tensions started to subside.Others have been converted into the likes of luxury apartments and museums.Here is the status of Scotland’s nuclear bunkers, according to submissions on the website.
