Scotland's Euro 2020 preparations begin as SFA consider fixture that hasn't been played for 37 years

Scotland will know by the end of this month whether or not they'll end a more than 20 year absence from major international tournaments.

Israel visit Hampden on March 26 for a crucial Euro 2020 play-off, as Steve Clarke 's side look to set up a do-or-die clash with Norway or Serbia.

Even though qualification has not been secured, preparations are already underway for the summer and the national team could face Northern Ireland in Belfast for the first time in 37 years.

Clarke's men are set to play two friendlies in June whether they qualify for Euro 2020 , which Scotland co-host, or not. And it's understood the SFA are considering an offer to play a friendly against Northern Ireland at Windsor Park at the start of June, with other nations
