School parking ban still to go ahead despite Covid-19 delay

Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.Plans to ban parking in streets around four schools in Renfrewshire are still set to be implemented in the future despite the initiative being put on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak.The pilot scheme - dubbed Safer Schools - involves barring parents from parking around St Catherine’s, Lochfield and St Charles’ primaries in Paisley, as well as Barsail Primary in Erskine, for 45 minutes at either end of the day.After rubber-stamping the proposals in January, council chiefs planned to put the exclusion zones in place from Easter until the end of this year.But, due to the coronavirus pandemic forcing the closure of all Renfrewshire schools, the initiative never got.
