Roll out of 1140 hours nursery boost to be completed in West Dunbartonshire next month

Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.Every family in West Dunbartonshire entitled to 1140 hours of free early learning and childcare will have access by the end of next month.The latest update comes after a full rollout, which was due to be carried out by August last year, was delayed because of the pandemic but education chiefs have revealed they are now “charging ahead” with completion by April.More than 1950 of West Dunbartonshire children are currently accessing the 1140 hours with the expansion of centres meaning the remaining 288 will soon receive their entitlement.It sees some families of two-year-olds and every three to four-year-old offered 1140 hours of childcare – an increase.
