Rishi Sunak has today announced the new Job Support Scheme that will replace furlough. It will see the government contribute towards the wages of employees who are working less than their regular hours.Employers will continue to pay the wages of staff for the hours they work - but for the hours not worked, the government and the employer will each pay one third of their equivalent salary.In Thursday's press conference led by Mr Sunak, the Chancellor was asked how the new package would be paid for.The journalist referenced an estimate by Capital Economics who say today's interventions will cost around £5 billion.Mr Sunak responded by saying full costings will be published later in the autumn, adding: "the Job Support Scheme is very tricky to.
