Hit sci-fi sitcom “Rick and Morty” has sparked outrage over a tone-deaf joke about the 9/11 terror attacks in a recent episode of the Adult Swim comedy.

The controversial gag occurs in “Promortyus,” the seventh episode of Season 4, which aired Sunday, and depicts the titular characters battling alien adversaries.
