Relentless Studios to shut down ‘Crucible’ in November

Amazon’s Relentless Studios has announced that it will be pulling the plug on its free-to-play shooter, Crucible, next month.The Crucible team announced the news via a final developer update on its blog, detailing the choices that led to its decision to shut down the game just six months after it was officially released earlier in May this year.The posted noted that the team has completed work on all new features and improvements listed in its roadmap following the game’s return to closed beta in July.

The team then looked into player feedback to evaluate the future of Crucible.“That evaluation led us to a difficult decision: we’ll be discontinuing development on Crucible,” said the developer.

 One in nine registered North Carolina voters have already cast their ballot for the upcoming November showdown between President Trump and Joe Biden, state officials said.  The state's 17-day early voting period began on Thursday and voters quickly turned out in mass numbers, according to WRAL.  At this point four years ago, around 166,000 ballots had been cast on the first day of early voting. The current number for 2020 was reportedly nearing 230,000 before the final tally was even completed.

All Vermont middle and high schoolers will have access to free condoms under new bill
Every high school and middle school in Vermont will now provide free condoms to students under a new bill that was just signed into law.  "In order to prevent or reduce unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, each school district shall make condoms available to all students in its secondary schools, free of charge," the bill reads. "At a minimum, condoms shall be placed in locations that are safe and readily accessible to students, including the school nurse’s office." A Florida sheriff's deputy helped save the life of a high school student this week who was having a seizure in the cafeteria.   School resource Deputy Pedro Colon received an alert that a student was having a medical emergency during lunch and rushed to his aid.  Body camera footage of the incident shows the student face down seizing on the ground.  The deputy immediately began performing CPR on the student and after several minutes, the student was alert and sitting up.
