Red Lion pub in Prestwick closes voluntarily after positive Covid test for staff member

Get the stories that interest you straight to your inbox every day with our personalised newsletterAnother of Prestwick's busiest bars has closed its doors voluntarily following a positive case of coronavirus.Bosses at the town's Red Lion said they "wouldn't feel right" staying open, despite advice to the contrary from Environmental Health officials.It follows a similar incident at the nearby BUF bar on Wednesday, when bosses there also took the voluntary decision to close after a positive test result for a staff member.Posting today on the bar's Facebook page, The Red Lion said: "We have unfortunately had member of staff return a positive case."Despite being advised from EHO that we are fine to remain open we wouldn’t feel right doing so.
