The real-life Michael Peterson is not a fan of HBO Max’s The Staircase, which was adapted from the original docu-series into a televised series by Antonio Campos and Maggie Cohn.
If you don’t know, in the early 2000s, Peterson was accused of killing his wife Kathleen and was eventually convicted of the crime.
However, he was eventually granted a retrial and ended up entering an Alford plea. An Alford plea “is a type of plea agreement where a criminal defendant pleads guilty to an offense but at the same maintains his or her innocence.
