Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard’s leading fitness coach, has declared himself happy with the stats provided by the players via apps and online analysis in recent weeks.

Gerrard will get his first look this morning when James Tavernier and Co return in small groups, with their arrival and assessment planned over the next two days.

It’s understood players will undergo a string of medical checks every day, including temperature monitoring, with coronavirus testing twice a week ahead of the new season start on August 1.

But Rangers, like all Premiership clubs, are facing a challenge in terms of arranging closed door friendlies, especially with the Scottish championship not scheduled to restart until October 17.
