memorial benches damaged by fans at George Square last night.The vandalism took place during a chaotic night in the city which saw large groups gathering to celebrate following Rangers league title win.Thousands of supporters descended onto George Square despite a warning from Police Scotland not to gather in large crowds.After the crowd dispersed fans were slammed for leaving mounds of rubbish and damaging memorial benches at George Square.Now fans have raised over £5,000 to repair the benches after Robert Marshall, who runs The Louden Tavern, organised an appeal which was launched earlier today.Robert said: "The Rangers support have been with the club all the way and it was to be expected that there would be joyous celebrations to follow..
