Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has broken her silence following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The 94 year old monarch said in a statement released on 9 March that she is "saddened" to hear of the couple's experience within the Royal Family. "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan," she wrote.
The Queen also addressed the race claims and said "some recollections may vary", as she continued: "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.
While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. "Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family.
