Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

George’s Chapel, following the news that the Queen, who turns 96 next week, would not be able to attend this weekend’s Easter service in Windsor.
Charles, 73, and Camilla, 74, stepped in to take over Her Majesty’s usual role at the Royal Maundy service after Buckingham Palace announced she would be unable to attend.The traditional Easter ceremony, which dates back to 600AD, usually sees the Queen distribute special Maundy money to local pensioners in a service which commemorates Jesus washing the feet of the Apostles at the Last Supper.
However, Her Majesty’s son and his wife stepped in for the service this year, which is the first time the event has occurred in two years due to the pandemic.
