Police urging Renton residents to be vigilant after spate of bike thefts

Cyclists are being urged to take extra care when locking up their bikes, after a spate of thefts throughout West Dunbartonshire.An NHS worker contacted the Lennox Herald last week to make us aware of a theft of her and her partner’s bikes from their Renton home.The woman, who used the bike to commute to work, was just one of a number of residents from throughout Dumbarton and the Vale to discover that their transport has been stolen.And that has prompted Inspector Mo Boyle of the West Dunbartonshire Community Police Team to warn locals to be extra vigilant.She said: “In recent months there has been a welcome increase in people taking to their bikes for exercise.
