Tenants will soon be legally allowed to keep pets in their rented properties, with new rules set to be put in place which mean landlords must consider requests to keep pets in their homes.

Many home owners have banned pets in their properties due to high maintenance costs, meaning those who rent have not been allowed to keep their furry friends if they move in.
