Tributes to Sarah Everard in Glasgow as park gate covered in ribbons
Sarah Everard.Organised by 'Reclaim these Streets', the memorials aim to highlight the issue of women's safety on the streets following yet another tragic event in which a woman was killed as she tried to make her way home.Sarah, 33, disappeared on March 3 after leaving her friend’s house in the Clapham area of London to walk home alone.A massive police search was then sparked after it was reported that she never returned home.A serving police officer, Wayne Couzens, 48, was later arrested on suspicion of her murder.Originally planned as a gathering, after the event's organisers in Glasgow were threatened with fines due to the current covid restrictions, they decided to instead ask people to visit four separate sites across the city.
