Michele Amabile Angermiller It’s been ten years since Pentatonix charmed America in the fall of 2011 competing on the NBC show, “The Sing-Off.”On Friday (June 4), the group — Scott Hoying (baritone), Mitch Grassi (tenor), Kirstin Maldonado (mezzo-soprano), Kevin Olusola (vocal percussion), and Matt Sallee (bass) — surprised fans with a release of a video recreating an iconic moment in the group’s history, singing Lady Gaga’s 2009 duet with Beyonce, “Telephone.”“The very first time we all sang ‘Telephone’ together as Pentatonix was literally the day before our audition for ‘The Sing-Off’: June 4th, 2011,” Hoying tells Variety. “The second we started singing, it clicked, and we all knew we had something very special.
