Former Arsenal and England midfielder Paul Merson has questioned Manchester United's decision to turn to Ralf Rangnick to become their new interim manager.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News on Thursday, the experienced German coach has agreed to become United's new boss on a six-month deal, before they hope to appoint a permanent replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer next summer.
Rangnick, who is expected to stay at Old Trafford in a consultancy role beyond his spell as interim manager, is vastly experienced, boasting a coaching career that has consisted of more than 30 years and 700 matches, meaning he will bring no shortage of knowledge to the role.
