Over 500 prison staff in Scotland are currently off sick due to coronavirus. New figures released by the Scottish Prison Service show 560 members of staff, which represents 12.6 per cent of the workforce, are either off due to symptoms, shielding or caring for family members.

At least 50 members are symptomatic.The prison service also said 22 prisoners are currently self-isolating across seven jails with only 3 confirmed cases of the virus.The confirmed cases are believed to be Perth and Addiewell, which is privately run.
