Oscars 2021 Will Be In Person, Academy Confirms

The Academy is finding a way to host the 2021 Academy Awards in person next year. If you don’t know, the Oscars were pushed from February 2021 until April 25, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Coronavirus health crisis has caused large gatherings to be halted as indoor, in person large events can become super-spreader events.

The Oscars, however, are going to find a way to make it happen. “The Oscars in-person telecast will happen,” a rep from the Academy and ABC told Variety.

This means the Oscars will not be held virtually via Zoom like the 2020 Emmys. “The Academy has done a walkthrough of the Dolby recently to see all the multiple options,” an awards publicist added.
