Olly Murs reveals he'll break his year-long sobriety on his wedding day
ok.co.ukHitmaker Olly Murs has revealed he’s been 365 days sober after admitting drink can “lead to bad s*** happening”.The Voice coach said he didn’t even break his booze ban to celebrate his engagement to Amelia Tank in June, and teased his fiancée for polishing off the bottle.
Speaking at ITV Autumn Entertainment Launch, Olly said: “I’ve not been drinking for a year - 365 days. It was just a personal thing.
I like little victories. I’m not someone who has ever struggled with drink, I’m just someone who felt like I wanted to do it for a year and challenge myself. “I just sometimes think drinking can lead to bad s*** happening.
I don’t miss it at all - only once when we got engaged I was devastated that I couldn't have just a little tipple with her. She drank the whole bottle, thinking, ‘Why have I said yes?’” While Olly said his life had improved “massively” since knocking the booze on the head, the 38-year-old has ruled out being sober for his wedding.
