Nicola Sturgeon urges caution after Tayside chicken factory cluster cases rise

coronavirus confirmed in Scotland in the last 24 hours - the highest rise in cases since May 16. But Nicola Sturgeon is urging Scots to take the increase in "context" as they are linked to the current outbreak at a Coupar Angus chicken factory.

The First Minister announced on Twitter today that 78 of the confirmed cases were in Tayside, where test and trace teams are dealing with a "significant" cluster at the 2 Sisters food processing plant.

Sturgeon said the rise is "of course of concern" but needs to be seen as part of the bigger picture at the moment. Anyone sharing a household with a factory worker from the plant has been told to isolate at home until Monday, August 31, NHS Tayside said on Thursday.
