John Swinney has signaled a U-turn on the SQA exams scandal. Swinney, who faces a no-confidence vote in the Scottish Parliament, is set to make a statement on Tuesday after pupils and teachers raised concerns about the crisis.Pupils who are unhappy with their exam results will be able to appeal them for free.
For the first time in more than 130 years, Scottish youngsters did not sit down for exams in May as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
It comes as the number of positive cases in Scotland saw an increase of 48 yesterday.There were zero deaths in the 24-hour period related to the killer virus which means its now 24 days since the last person died from Covid-19.The number of confirmed cases has now reached 18,938.Health chiefs.
