Lanarkshire’s health board have been forced to issue a plea asking people not to steal hand gels from the county's hospitals.On their official Facebook page this afternoon they posted that “mindless thieves” have been removing dispensers and bottles and filling empty bottles from Hairmyres, Wishaw and Monklands hospital supplies amidst the ongoing and ever-changing coronavirus crisis.The statement said: “This is extremely concerning as we purposely have hand gel in our hospitals and healthcare facilities for the protection of our patients, visitors and staff.“Stealing hand gel from our hospitals puts all these people at risk.
