New pedestrianised zone created in Perth city centre to help with social distancing

Perth city centre. A section of the High Street between Scott Street and Methven Street will be closed to all vehicles except service vehicles between 4pm and 11am for the next three months.The council says the closure will let businesses and pedestrians use the road safely, as well as enabling safe physical distancing. Negotiations to start on plan to turn city centre building into boutique hotel The measure is part of the Perth and Kinross Council’s ongoing £1.1 million Spaces for People project.Funded by Scottish Government and managed by Sustrans Scotland, Spaces for People is a temporary infrastructure programme in Scotland offering funding and support to make it safer for people who choose to walk, cycle or wheel for permitted.
