Golf and tennis clubs in Lanarkshire have enjoyed a surge in membership after the sports returned to action last week.Phase One of the Scottish Government’s routemap out of the Covid-19 shutdown has allowed the return of non-contact sports and, with glorious weather over the weekend, players made the most of it.The public have been keen to get their sporting fix after over two months in lockdown and its seen clubs across the region welcome new players.At Rutherglen Tennis Club president Gareth Ellor said: “The courts were jam-packed all weekend and that has continued through the week, so clearly everyone has been desperate to get back out on court.“We’ve had a lot of new members as well, players who were members at indoor facilities or
