Music Review: ‘Song For Our Daughter’ by Laura Marling

Imagine if the seven deadly sins were wealthy gen-z’rs and threw a house party. Now at said party, imagine each of them was high, drunk, and in such a deranged and disconnected state they wouldn’t even know what planet they were operating on. This is what viewers can expect from Halina Reijn’s first English feature film, Bodies Bodies Bodies, which had its world premiere at SXSW 2022. Based on a short story “Cat Person” by Kristen Roupenian and written by Sarah DeLappe, this movie is about when seven people party in a mansion and find out what happens when their game gets out of control. Hence, they stop being polite and start dying.

(G)I-DLE leader and producer Soyeon has opened up about her approach to the group’s newly-released studio album ‘I Never Die’.At a press showcase for the girl group’s new album and single ‘Tomboy’ yesterday (March 14), the (G)I-DLE leader shared the thought process on the new record, which came over a year since the quintet’s last release.“Because we are coming back after such a long absence, I made this album as if we were debuting again,” said Soyeon, who wrote and co-composed over half the tracks on ‘I Never Die’, including its lead single.“When I saw the five members, who have matured, I wondered what concept would best suit them, and focused on that throughout the process,” added the leader, who said that she had worked on the release with the goal of producing a “detailed and cool” album.Elsewhere during the showcase, the vocalists of (G)I-DLE spoke about rapping on the B-side track ‘My Bag’, for which they had dropped a special video prior to the album’s release. “This is the first song where [the whole group] raps,” said Taiwanese member Shuhua, who added that she had enjoyed the challenge.Meanwhile, Chinese member Yuqi, who also co-wrote and composed the songs ‘Liar’ and ‘Polaroid’ joked that she had “always [been] good at rapping”.

Jeremy Kyle has broken his silence after the release of the explosive Channel 4 documentary, Death on Daytime.The 56 year old presenter, who fronted the ITV show for 14 years before it was axed, said there "are two sides to every story" as he discussed the programme on his radio show. Jeremy appeared on TalkRADIO on Monday and reacted to the documentary, which he is also seeking legal action over. Death on Daytime explored the tragic death of Jeremy Kyle guest Steve Dymond, who took his own life days after he "failed" a lie detector test on the show.

Kelis' husband Mike Mora has passed away age 37 following a battle with stomach cancer, the singer's representatives have confirmed.The 42 year old singer's husband Mike revealed in September 2021 he had been diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer. He was given just 18 months to live. Kelis' representatives released a statement to share the sad news, which read: "Sadly, it’s true that Mike Mora has passed away.

Laura Marling has announced she has moved up the release date of her new album, Song for Our Daughter. Originally slated for a summer release, the record will now arrive April 10 via Partisan/Chrysalis. “In light of the change to all our circumstances, I saw no reason to hold back on something that, at the very least, might entertain, and at its best, provide some sense of union,” she wrote in a statement. Marling has also shared a new song, “Held Down.” Find that below.
