More than 50 UK Pride groups demand reversal of 'reckless and damaging' decision to grant charity status to LGB Alliance group

Last month, the LGB Alliance was awarded charitable status by the Charity Commission - a move that would allow the group to be exempt from tax and be eligible to receive charity funding.

The group, started in 2019, says it was set up in a bid to 'advance the interests of lesbians, gay men and bisexuals'. While its aims do not mention transgender and non-binary people, the organisation denies it is trying to 'erase trans people'.
