Manchester United were very keen to take Haaland to Old Trafford in January 2020 when it was clear the Norwegian would depart RB Salzburg, but did not agree a number of add-ons with the player's agent, Raiola, and the player's move to Dortmund was actually confirmed in December 2019.
Haaland has plundered goals at Dortmund — at a rate of virtually one per game — to prompt more interest from United and other clubs around Europe.
