Manchester United have been told their new assistant manager was a "disaster" in his last role, having been sacked after overseeing a 7-1 defeat.

United this week appointed Chris Armas to Ralf Rangnick's backroom staff, along with sports psychologist Sascha Lense, and will be tasked with helping the interim boss implement his high-press tactical approach on the squad.

Armas has been out of work since July, when he was dismissed by Toronto FC after just six months, and 15 games in charge.
