Man stabbed outside McDonald's as police descend on restaurant

A man is in hospital after being stabbed in Atherton. It happened shortly before 6.30pm on Sunday evening outside a McDonald's restaurant in the town.

He suffered a "minor wound", Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said. A police cordon was put in place outside the McDonald's restaurant near the border with Tyldesley following the incident.
