Police and air ambulance were scrambled to Yew Tree Road in Moss Side at around 10.15am today (24 May). A man, believed to be in his 20s, was found with a stab wound to the head.

He has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. No arrests have been made, but a major police investigation is underway.

There is a large cordon currently in place on Yew Tree Road, with a number of police vehicles guarding the area. Forensic teams can be seen taking photographs, and laying out ground markers on the street.
