Man carrying rifle 'shot in leg' by police following armed incident

rifle was shot in the leg by an officer this morning, police have confirmed. The 31-year-old is currently being treated in hospital following the incident on Ronkswood Hill, Worcester around 9am this morning.

West Mercia Police attended the scene after reports of a man in a car with the weapon, according to Wales Online. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.No one else was harmed during the attack, with police adding they do not consider there to be a wider threat to the local community.Assistant Chief Constable Rachel Jones said: “This is an extremely unusual incident for our policing area.“We understand that the local community and wider area will be shocked by the events in Ronkswood Hill this morning.” A West Mercia.
