A man has been arrested after a statue of 17th Century slave trader Edward Colston was torn down during a protest in Bristol.Avon and Somerset Police say they have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage following the incident.The bronze memorial, which has been in the city centre since 1985, was toppled during a Black Lives Matter protest on June 7, and dumped in Bristol Harbour.No arrests were made at the time but the force previously said it would be reviewing footage of a "small group of people" who were filmed pulling down the statue with ropes.Avon and Somerset Police say their investigation is ongoing.At least 5,000 people packed into the College Green area of Bristol last month to protest in light of the death of.
