A man has been airlifted to hospital after plunging from a cliff at an iconic Scots beauty spot. Emergency services raced to the scene at Slains Castle in Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, shortly after 3pm on Saturday.
The man had tumbled over the edge of the rock face and landed on a ledge below, suffering injuries during the horror fall.Due to the man’s perilous location, a rope access technician climbed over the edge with a paramedic to assess the man’s condition.
The hero rescue crews managed to get the casualty onto a stretcher and winched him up into a Coastguard helicopter. He was flown directly to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment, where he is described as being in a stable condition.
