Police were called to Manchester Road West at around 10.25am this morning to reports of two men fighting. Officers say one man was armed with a knife.

Paramedics were called to the scene and a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and racially aggravated public disorder.

He remains in police custody for questioning. A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with a knife wound injury to his hand and back.
