The M56 has been closed for more than two hours this evening after a lorry filled with grains overturned. The closure is in place eastbound between junctions 10 (Warrington) and 9 (M6).
The incident happened shortly before 7 pm this evening, December 16. A huge clean up operation is in place this evening. Pictures shared by North West motorway police show the tipped over lorry and the heap of grains over the carriageway.
