Fostering a child can transform many lives – from the young person you take into your home, to your own life and that of your family.

This was one of the key messages from those involved in fostering – both as carers and staff workers – during a Facebook Live Q&A on the Manchester Evening News Facebook page.

Sahra, a foster carer with the National Fostering Group for 12 years; Laura, a supervising social worker at Alpha Plus Fostering (part of National Fostering Group) and David, the carer recruitment manager for the National Fostering Group, spoke of how people from Greater Manchester - and across the north west - can become involved in this life-changing choice.

The trio, who were chatting with Emma Gill, of the Manchester Evening News, reflected on the transformative effects of fostering, with Sahra's experiences illustrating how fulfilling it can be.
